I would like to welcome you to the Jefferson County Health Departments website. The site will be updated on a periodic
basis in an effort to inform you about the ongoing programs and activities of the department. If you have specific questions
on programs, please press the programs link on the homepage. If the specific information can not be found, please feel free
to contact our office at 244-7134.
As the department is dilignet in serving our community through programing, we welcome any input you may have as our customer.
We are currently involved in a strategic planning project which will help us examine the services provided to the community.
This project will also help us look into future program and service expansion.
As you know, times have changed and so have the threats to public safety. I want to assure you that the department is
fully cooperating with other local emergency partners to insure that we can respond to a disaster or bioterrorism event.
In either event, the department will activate it's emergency plan and will jointly participate in emergency response. As part
of our emergency response, we will participate in the county emergency response center, provide assistance through emergency
services and provide information on our site link, media announcements and by action messages through our telephone system.
